Myrna Duncan is a graduate of the Jamaica School of Art, where she completed a 4 year program specializing in painting. She taught art at a high school in Jamaica and had several successful exhibitions there before migrating to Toronto. Her art took a hiatus for a few years until she started painting again in 2000 and it has been her focus, challenge and joy to re-discover her creative genes. A strong social conscience is evident in her work. As a volunteer crisis counsellor in Toronto for over 10 years she has been exposed to people and situations that have taught her many life lessons, and some of these paintings are born from that experience.
